Bloggers' Quilt Festival - Applique entry

I'm very sorry to regular readers as you've seen this quilt so many times already! For the appliqué category in the Bloggers' Quilt Festival, I am entering Hoots Mon, aka the Moose Quilt. This quilt uses my usual (favourite) technique of making templates with freezer paper, pressing them to the fabric and clipping and gluing the seam allowances under to create turned edge appliqué that you can stitch down by machine.I try and quilt textures that make sense for what is being portrayed, so animals tend to have very jerky, dense, varying height zig zag quilting to look like fur...This quilt now hangs on my living room wall- I entered it in a quilt show recently but how he is retired ;)For my original finish post on this quilt back in February, click here. For more entries into the Bloggers' Quilt Festival, click here.
