Going to FQR London... and pendant reservations

Over on Fat Quarterly there's a linky party for those going to the Fat Quarterly Retreat in three weeks' time. Click here to read about some of the others who will be going. For now I'll introduce myself briefly to newcomers and then show you the wares I am taking to the Quilt Market night!***That's me over there on the left, the photo is a few years old but there aren't many pictures of me around with my eyes open or without my mouth doing something weird in them.I like all colours- even brown!- and I have a bit of a soft spot for unusual colour combinations, mismatched vintage fabrics for backings, trying new FMQ designs without fear on big quilt tops(!) and small scale prints. I also like art quilts but I've only made a couple. I don't like fabrics with a lot of white space in them, or white with another strong colour as I think that fabric loses it's value within the finished quilt top. I also don't like needle turn applique or hand quilting because I'm too impatient for it. I write projects for magazines but not many have come out yet, they are in the pipeline though. I've been quilting for around two years but I've been blogging for five as I used to make resin jewellery and started my company PennyDog in 2007. I got a bit fed up of the smell of the house and the sanding and the health risks, but I have decided to just do a few more especially for the retreat. More on that later.I live in Leicestershire with my partner Alex and our greyhound Fletcher, who is nearly 11 and hates me sewing (but loves the sewing room biscuits).  No kids and no plans for any either, I enjoy my peace and quiet too much! Our secret plan is to emigrate to Canada and we are going to visit Toronto in October for a few days. I am very excited about this.I work in Marketing for an exhibition company and therefore was in London last week.I also do freelance layouting, editing and I'd like to do more fabric design. When I'm not working, sewing, designing or sleeping I like reading and ice skating, and I have a few wounds to show for it as regular readers and Instagram followers will know (yes I have a brand new super-bruise on my knee from yesterday).I will be the these classes, so I hope to meet you there...Brioni's Cathedral Windows, Lucie's Portholes, Sewing Curves in EPP with Joanna and Julianna and also Eraser Stamp Carving with Tacha. I'm still putting my bits and pieces together for these classes and I am bringing my machine too and I don't mind lending it to others if I'm at a tabletop class. It's a heavy beast though, you've been warned ;)At the mini quilt market event on the Saturday night I will be having a little table selling resin necklaces with designer fabric in them. If you would like to pre-order any of the below let me know! They are £10 each and will come either on a chain or a black cord depending on your preference. They will also come sanded, smooth and shiny, I've not done that yet (it's the worst bit)!Circles...Rectangles...Teardrops...Anyway I hope to meet you there, I have a feeling my blog reader list will soon be much longer!
