A Finish: Triangle Mountains

Back in October, I was putting my 60 degree triangle ruler to use making a quilt for Precut Patchwork magazine (used to be Quilting Quickly). It is made from fat quarters and a jelly roll, all Kona solids. It has now been returned to me!The plan was to make mountain shapes but without having to sew Y seams (which I still avoid where possible). The blue sky is strip pieced and the strips are varied in width slightly and arranged by shade.STATSSize –  42" x 57 1/2"Number of blocks – 40 mountains, 40 sky blocks (just some of them were made a little larger and cut in half to fill the edges)Time to make – I didn't keep track, but it was pretty quick, maybe 12 hours?Fabric – Kona Solids Stormy Skies fat quarter pack and Waterfall jelly roll.Binding Fabric – Jennifer Sampou Chalk and Charcoal AJS-17512-87Backing - Jennifer Sampou Chalk and Charcoal AJS-17516-296Threads – Back is all Decobob, front is some Coats Moon (gray) and some Polyfast (blue)Batting – 80/20 Hobbs HeirloomQuilting- Organic lines with the odd curl to symbolise the wind on the blue blocks, echo quilting of the grey on the mountain blocks.
