Some motivators for the New Year

Well, people seem to have wanted to see my wall chart so here it is. It's not really as impressive as you were expecting, is it? ;)todoAt least it works for me, I have a few things listed beneath the month header which I can work on so I'm not restricting myself to one project and forcing myself to finish it, which may mean it's no fun anymore. This way I can also spread things out evenly, instead of being overwhelmed in one month as I can use the quieter ones before it to get some of that done too. There are several motivator linky parties going on around quilty blogs as it's the start of the year, so you might find one or several of these helps you to stay on track and set and achieve targets with your sewing. I am taking part in the Finish Along yet again but there are others...2014 FINISH ALONGFollowing on from Leanne in 2013 and Rhonda in 2012, the finish along (yes that's right, I'm using 'along' as one word and so is Katy!) is in the third year on Katy's blog. Each quarter list the projects you want to finish and then when the quarter is up, link up what you have achieved from that little lot and you could win some fab prizes.A LOVELY YEAR OF FINISHESI did this last year and it's good for breaking things down further. Once a month set yourself a finish goal- it could be finish a quilt top, or it could be to start and finish a swap item for example, you make the goal as easy or as intense as you wish.WIPOCALYPSEI've not done this one before, however I can tell you it's for the embroiderers and cross stitchers out there. Set yourself a list of things to finish (or start and finish) this year and then each full moon, post the progress.UFO ZAPPING ON POPULAR PATCHWORKCreate your list for the year now and as you check things off (and upload the photos) be entered for a monthly prize. I got a Bonnie and Camille FQ in this last year.NewFO CHALLENGEIf you're strange disciplined enough not to have a load of half finished projects already, the opposite of all of the above is the NewFO challenge. Start a new project, don't necessarily finish it and then you'll be in a fit state to join the rest of us in the Finish Along for 2015 ;)Hopefully this list will inspire you with your resolutions to bust those WIPs this year. Also if you're reading this Saturday morning, there's a possibility that you can still catch some of my destash sale featuring Type, Shelburne Falls and more over on Instagram. Check it out here!
