A finish, a finish!

The Forest QAL top is quilted bound and washed. Why is it black cotton attracts so much dust in the washing machine by the way? Any tips on stopping this happening as we have this issue with OH's work trousers too? Anyway I digress...I've successfully achieved my Lovely Year of Finishes target for this month, one of my Finish-a-long targets and entered it into the QAL linky party (my first ever QAL finish) all in one swoop, not bad! Here's some close ups of the quilting as I did a few different textures...And the back fabric is all one piece...STATSSize – 44″ x 54″ - ish, sort of a large baby quilt or a small lap quilt.Number of blocks – 5 paper pieced blocks with a lump of improv and black pieces for spacing in between.Time to piece – 14 hours approxTime to quilt – 3 hours approx (home machine)Fabric – Scraps... tree fabric is Jeanean Morrison, In My Room though.Backing Fabric – Some correct weight stuff I found on sale in Ikea. Pretty!Binding Fabric – Black cotton facings- my favourite techniqueThreads – Cotton piecing, quilting with polyester threads and Bottom Line.Batting – Black 80/20 Hobbs.Quilting- A mixture of wonky vertical lines, leaves, zigzags, bark effect, pebbles....Completed as part of the finish along Q3- original post here.
