A finish, but not without a fight

Wallander is done done done! I've just scraped it in during the Finish A Long bonus week too.At the start of April this is how much I had (about 10 blocks)...So that's pretty good right? It wasn't without a fight though. When I got it out of the washer this morning and was clipping the threads whilst it was drying, I noticed something bad. The soluble thread bobbin had got mixed up with my Bottom Line (same colour, same thickness) and as a result six feathers were on the front but not on the back! I pulled the thread of and re-quilted them. I'm just hoping that's all that has been affected.Binding was a lot better using this method of facing the edges, rather than bagging it out for invisible sides like I did with Mr Fry. No shifting and a bit of hand sewing for in front of the TV too. Happy stuff. Will definitely be using this, probably all the time now, I think a lot of my quilt designs in my notes benefit from not having borders and visible bindings. Binding is not my favourite thing and the corners were a bit tricky, but then I find standard mitring of the corners difficult anyway ;)

Thicker ones- not fun to work with but good for picnic blanket bottoms!Binding Fabric - Some more of the of £5 vintage bedsheet that I used to back Rain Deer Limbo.Threads - Piecing and green feathers: Aurifil Cotton 40, detail quilting: Superior Threads Kimono Silk in Ramen, Bobbin: Superior Threads Bottom Line in Champagne. And not forgetting the soluble thread I used for basting, evil stuff.Batting – Cheap polyester stuff- got a big piece from LQS for less than a tenner.Quilting- First attempt at feathers for inside the diamond shapes, simple back and forth lines horizontally and vertically alternating for spaces in-between.Just got to get a sleeve on this thing now and post it for the Festival of Quilts, unless I decide to take it to the Retreat first?
