Five-year-and-two-weeks-iversary!

As promised, I have a giveaway for you!I've been quilting my Wallander top trying out some new threads, I've enjoyed them so much I wanted you to try them too, and after a little bit of email pestering, Superior Threads have offered me a $25 gift certificate for their online shop.DSCF5746So what would you buy if you won? There is the famous King Tut thread for the top thread that a lot of quilters swear by, or maybe you want to try out Bottom Line like I did? Or both? The Bottom Line is lovely and smooth in the machine, a bobbin lasts ages and it means that your chosen top thread lasts a lot longer since you're only using it on top. Don't be fooled that polyester thread isn't good for quilts, this stuff works a dream and doesn't cut your fabric. My personal recommendation is to use cotton to piece (as this is what holds it together ultimately) then bust out some reliable and strong polyester to get all of your quilting done.DSCF5748In addition to polyester, I can also recommend the Kimono Silk thread. This is a thin thread that melts away into your top so that you can put finer details and fillers into your design without drawing too much attention to it, and with a slight lustre to it. They do piecing, appliqué and hand sewing threads too, so if quilting's not your thing, you won't be left out.I think I'd like to try out Trilobal Fantastico next, it's a high sheen 40wt thread. Lovely colours!  To win, just let me know which thread you think would be most useful to you and leave a comment here on this post.

For additional entries you can:

  • Like the Superior Threads Facebook page, and let me know in a comment that you did
  • Follow Superior Threads on Pinterest, and tell me that you did
  • Tweet or FB about this giveaway, and tell me that you did (with your username where appropriate)

Giveaway open internationally and I will draw the winner in the evening on Tuesday 25th June (UK time).
