Fabric Fabric Fabric

Yey lots of pretty pictures of pretty things for legitimate reasons! So I got home from work to find TWO squishy parcels dating back from the end of the year when I decided I needed birthday gifts and also to order fabric to make up some of my quilt patterns and make them more saleable. One more delivery to go with my two FQ bundles in- I'm wondering if customs have intercepted than one.First up... from Pink Castle Fabrics...DSCF4885Next... from Fluffy Sheep Quilting...DSCF4886So now look at my Heaven and Helsinki collection- yey! I'm almost ready to cut into them. And yesterday I went to the Fabric Guild where I met up with Ange and only spent a little over £30. Look I was tidy and pressed and folded them for my stash already. OK they didn't make it to the shelf yet...  And yes I have some pieces of Constellations!DSCF4878DSCF4877I bought ESSENTIALS to finish my patterns off and the odd cheap treat. Those fat quarters were all 99p each. They were a bit short on solids though so I'm still needing brown and black. I got told off squealed at when I got home but I think it was bargainous. I am still sad about my £2 a yard turtle fabric that I forgot to pick up and take to the checkout *sigh*Look at THIS on the left! According to the selvedge it is from a range  from Connecting Threads called Winter Fun from 2010. Doesn't it look like knitted fabric? It's not, it's quilting cotton! *mind boggles*If you have any more Noel Edmond's Christmas Jumper fabric in your stash I am very envious. I limited myself to 1 FQ.DSCF4882Metallic Aurifil. I've not tried it yet but the wooden spools are CUTE and it's only £1 each for these and a limited number of variegateds. I think it will work better than the usual horrible and brittle metallics though as it seems to have a standard cotton base with just a couple of strands of shiny woven in. This is technically a very dark blue or a black I think.DSCF4881If you're planning a trip they have lots of bargains and some nice modern stuff to keep you happy which was a pleasant surprise- The Quilted Fish for Riley Blake at less than £4 a yard, a substantial number of Erin McMorris Somersault bolts, some Alexander Henry awesome jungle print that I didn't need so didn't buy and some nice inoffensive prints at £2 a yard which can't be sniffed at. For example Ange got herself the rest of two bots of red stripe fabric which would be great for binding. She came up with that idea on her own back and I only suggested that if it was me I'd buy the lot as there wasn't much on the bolt. Don't believe any other version of the story she may tell you :PWhile I'm here, here's the current status of Mr Fry too for those who are following my progress...Oh and for the record, I tried again this morning and failed, though the half rectangle triangle saga has apparently been since solved but I'm waiting on evidence. Thanks to Lynne off of Lily's Quilts for her suggestion- the first time I did it it didn't work but I have another trick up my sleeve to use her measurements, we will see what happens in my next post I imagine!
