It's Giveaway Day!

NOW CLOSED!I've finally remembered to take part in the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway day for the first time ever! Hurray!Hello if you're visiting for the first time, it would be really great if you stuck around, I have a few tutorials and things to look at in the top bar, and I'm working on a big project! Those who have been following me for a while, or at least the last month will know that I'm trying to set up a contemporary magazine for quilting and patchwork here in the UK. The problem with our current magazines is they are either traditional (great if you like that kind of thing- I even subscribe to one myself so there are no hard feelings there) or have got a bit of bad air about them for reasons I'm not going to go into here.

So we British quilters need a new magazine and I've decided to be the person to do it! I'm having to edit, artwork, sell advertising and write a lot of the material, which will keep costs and overheads down, however for distribution purposes I need to raise some cash by selling subscriptions and advertising early to have some money to pay our biggest news trader for a trial period in half their stores. There's a lot more info here, including a picture of the cover, along with a video of me erming a lot and being inexplicably more Yorkshire than I remember: http://www.indiegogo.com/fabricateIt's good to know that even if you move away from your home town, the accent sticks with you. There's also the last post or two to check back on this blog for more background info.Since several people are kindly blogging for me (and entering my fabric gift voucher prize draw by doing so), I thought I should probably provide a button should you wish to use it. I needed one for my sidebar anyway! Here it is, please borrow away!I've also been working on a sample project for inside- here's a sneak peek of the some of the progress steps. The actual project will be posted here and various other places around the web in the next day or so.I can hear you shouting that you want me to get on with the giveaway already...You know that Hello Chevron quilt I am occasionally working on (this one here- which is actually more than twice this size since last photographing it)? Well I overcalculated and I have a spare Hello Luscious charm pack which I have decided to offer you today! Here it is...I particularly like the lacy prints...I love everything Basic Grey! To enter just tell me your favourite fabric designer in a comment. If you want to follow my blog as well, that's fantastic but its not essential for entering should you not be interested in my drivel... :DEntries must be in by 1am on Saturday 8th UK time, which is 5pm on Friday 7th PST. I will email the winner and announce them here on the weekend. Good luck!
